Developer Experience in a Post-DevOps world (DE)
DevOps came into being to address the conflicts between developers and operations staff so companies could move faster with happier employees. For companies relying heavily on cloud-native approaches, technology has today advanced to a state where a separation between Dev and Ops is not even practical anymore. The challenge for these companies is not anymore about tearing down the wall of confusion between Dev and Ops, but to maximise the productivity of their whole engineering organisation. The goal is creating the best Developer Experience possible to reduce any friction between the inception of an idea and the customer being able to use it. This talk will explain the strategies we are following at Scout24 to reach that goal and will touch on technological and organisational choices we made along the way.
Max is passionate about scaling engineering organisations with tech platforms. He currently runs the Cloud Platform Engineering organisation at the European Scout24 Group. Before joining Scout24, he built up the Swiss branch of Container Solutions – an international, Cloud Native consultancy – and helped large brands adopting a Cloud Native mindset. He first experienced DevOps at scale when running IT Operations at HolidayCheck, where his teams pioneered the large-scale use of container orchestration to increase the productivity of development teams.
