Swiss Usability Night: Recap and Key Learnings

By Nadia Volpe

Welcome to another Swiss Usability Night – a community event where the usual boundaries of app design and usability don’t apply. No long speeches or boring presentations. We focus on dedicating time to innovation, hands-on experiences, and real connections, wrapped up with some aperitifs to get the conversations flowing.

Chatbots and Advancing AI

Participants got hands-on experience with Rimon, an innovative app testing the limits of AI in user interaction, challenging them to feed a chatbot a maze of information and observe its ability to generate meaningful responses. The exercise underlined the importance of artificial intelligence in enhancing user experience and showcased the latest trends in AI development.

Revolutionising the Learn-to-Earn Model

The introduction of SayNode’s Skill Buddy app marked a pivotal moment of the night, offering a glimpse into the future of educational technology. This platform demonstrated the potential of integrating blockchain technology with skill-building, emphasizing personal development, and career advancement opportunities. Skill Buddy stood out as a pioneer in the “Learn-to-Earn” ecosystem, riding the wave of digital transformation shaping future learning landscapes.

Navigating Mobile Usability

One point to take away is the challenge of adapting intricate desktop functionalities to mobile platforms. Mobile optimisation is crucial in today’s app development and design strategies, underscoring the demand for seamless, intuitive mobile experiences. Insights gathered from these conversations emphasised the ongoing need for innovation in mobile UX/UI design, highlighting it as a key area for future development within the tech landscape.

Innovation and Community

What set Swiss Usability Night apart was its unique blend of professional insight and community spirit. The informal exchanges over exquisite aperitifs not only facilitated networking but also sparked collaborative ideas for tackling usability challenges, solidifying the event as a cornerstone for Swiss tech’s collective advancement.

Why it matters

In retrospect, Swiss Usability Night served as more than just a meeting point for tech enthusiasts. It really shows the potential for what can be achieved when creative minds come together and connect to reconsider the norms of technology and design. We look forward to many more to come!

The Quiet Shift: How AI Co-Pilots Are Reshaping the Tester’s Day

If you step into a modern QA team today, you might not immediately see the change. People still review requirements, analyse risks, discuss defects. But look a little closer and something subtle is happening: AI is running alongside them, suggesting test ideas, rewriting brittle selectors, clustering logs, offering insights before anyone even asks.

At the 2026 Swiss Testing Day sessions, a theme emerges again and again: modern QA must stretch beyond models, metrics, and pipelines. Testers increasingly find themselves in conversations about responsibility, inclusion, and trust. It is no longer enough to validate that a model works – we need to understand for whom it works, and for whom it doesn’t.
