Manuel has been part of Xebia since 2022 as an QA Expert, Test Automation Expert and Speaker. Before his time in Switzerland, the studied programmer and theatre actor had already been working in the field of test automation and quality assurance with a focus on reviews in Vienna, Austria, for over 5 years. He also dedicates time to DevOps and coaching.
In his free time, Manuel loves to step out his comfort zone; dancing hip hop, ice bathing or teaching acting techniques ore even learning swiss german are one of his current hobbies.
Small, consistent improvements beat big-bang changes. In this talk I show how the 1% principle makes test automation measurably more maintainable-step by step-and how AI acts as a co-pilot along the way. We’ll cover from stable selector design, architecture design and AI-assisted maintenance (e.g., test refactoring, flaky analysis, self-healing suggestions). At the same time, we’ll empower manual testers to safely use and contribute to automation with guardrails, clear prompts, and easy on-ramps in Playwright.
